Americans aren’t very good at resting. In fact, we consistently score in the bottom rankings of countries for taking the most vacation days. As in, we barely take any. 

I heard a stat recently that while Americans take an average of 17 days of PTO (paid time off) per year, employees who get unlimited PTO take only 10! That really speaks to our cultural mindset: we value work more than rest. Even if our employers set no limit on PAID days off, we don’t take the offer.  

Don’t be that guy. Take the time off. You deserve rest. You need rest.  

So, rest. 

Jesus even asks us to honor the Sabbath. He took His weekly rest, and He only ever did what He saw His Father do.  

So if God Himself takes rest, then we probably should, too. 

Now, if you’ll pardon the brevity, I’m going to go take a nap.
