The prophets are calling this new year “The Year of the Open Door.” More than just rhyming with 2024, the Jewish year 5784, which began in September, means just that. A full year of open doors? That is exciting news to me!

What would you do this year if you had all the opportunities open to you that you needed? That may sound a bit extreme, but the Holy Scripture tells us that the power of life and death is in the tongue, and those that love it will eat its fruit (Prov. 18:21). That means, to a certain extent (excluding the sovereignty of the Lord and the free will of other human beings), you will have the kind of life that you proclaim out of your mouth!

So what kind of a life are you speaking over yourself for this year? For me and my house, we are speaking words of life and affirmation! For new opportunities, divine appointments, and unprecedented favor. A new home and some foster babies makes the top of our list. But more importantly, I want to be ready to be ready in season and out to minister to the one the Lord puts in front of me at any given moment. And for that to happen, I have to be well-seasoned in His Word. Which is why I’m taking very seriously the opportunity to join my church in reading through the Bible in a year. Consider joining me?
